Those are all of the freebies I got while out shopping, then I got home and requested several freebies online, of course those will not show up for 6-8 weeks!  But it looks as if maybe the freebies are picking back up.

CVS Sunday Coupon Haul

Hello to everyone, hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.  Here are the deals I got at CVS today.  Hope you all are getting some of the same great deals.

Also, I made a trip to Walmart, got 59.37 worth of products for $21.97, and 12 of that was for tobacco products for my husband and I.  A few of the deals I got, McCormick Gourmet Spices are 1.64, and there is a $2 printable coupon on coupons.com so that was a moneymaker, I also printed from coupons.com coupons for Pillsbury Mini Pancakes B1G1 and they are only $0.88 each so I got some of them to try.  I also lucked out and found some peelies (on Advil) for $1.50 off any Chapstick product, so I got 4 single Chapstick tubes ($0.97 each) so that was a moneymaker as well. Also found some great clearance items for the little man's birthday party at the end of the month.  So check it out and see what you can get!!!

Back to School Deals at Office Depot and Staples

BzzAgent review of Lysol Power and Free

I recently received a BzzAgent kit with my free Lysol Power & Free cleaners.   Lysol Free & Clear has a hydrogen peroxide formula that kills 99.9% of bacteria, and no bleach, which is appealing to me as I have a septic tank, and bleach is a big NO, NO!!

I was very pleased with the product, especially the MultiPurpose cleaner, just spray it on any gunky, dried on mess, walk a way for a minute, come back and wipe with a rag, easy as that!!! No need to scrub!!!

What a Fruit full Weekend

Good morning to all.  Todays topic, what to do with fresh fruit so it does not go bad, why make pies, desserts or jellies of course!!!  I received several pints of fresh blueberries from my local food bank, and my husband has been begging me to make him a homemade blueberry pie, so I spent all day Friday making pies, 3 of them to be exact!!!! My wonderful friend Lisa also received some blueberries, so I made one of the pies for her.  It is a very easy recipe, and Lisa doesn't really like blueberries, but said that she loved this pie.  So I decided to share the recipe and pictures along the way for you!

For the Blueberry Pie Filling you will need 5 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries (2 pints), 3/4 cup of sugar and 3 tbsp flour.

For the pie crust you will need 2 1/4 c of flour, 3/4 tsp salt, 2/3 c shortening and 8-10 tbsp of cold water.  (Or you can buy the pre-made pie crusts at the store)

I start out by going through my blueberries and pulling off any stems or any bad berries, I put them in a colander and rinse them, then let them sit and drain while I make the crust.

In a medium bowl mix flour and salt. Using a pastry blender cut in shortening until pieces are pea size. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of water over mixure and toss with fork, move moistened pastry to side of the bowl and then repeat until all of the flour mixture is moistened. Then divide in half and make 2 balls.

On lightly floured surfaceuse hands to slightly flatten one pastry ball, then use rolling pin and roll out from center to edges into a 12 inch circle. Wrap around the rolling pin and unroll unto a 9 inch pie plate with out stretching it, and then trim off any excess . Now put filling into the pie crust.

To make the filling mix sugar and flour in a bowl until well blended, then fold blueberries in mixture until well coated, then put into pie crust.

Then roll the second ball and either lay on top of filling, cut slits in pie crust and seal edges, or do lattice and cut into strips and cover filling. If desired, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.

Then take tin foil and tear out center and put over pie to ensure that the edges do not burn.

Now put in oven at 375 for 25 minutes, then remove foil from pie, bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until filling is bubbly. And then cool on wire rack. Enjoy plain or with some vanilla ice cream!!!

Purex Fabric Softener Sheet Review & Giveaway

As a member of the Purex Insiders I was given the opportunity to try the Purex Fabric Softener Sheet.  First thing is the box smelled WONDERFUL!!!  The scent is sweet lavender and it is most assuredly sweet to the nose.  Then I put them in the dryer with my clothes.  The whole laundry room smelled of a light scent of sweet lavendar, and my clothes were very soft after using the product.

I have tried many types of fabric softener sheets, and I have to say this one is one of the best I have tried.  The smell does not fade as they sit on your dryer, and your clothes will end up very soft.  I highly recommend trying this product, you just might find a new fabric softener sheet to use!

So many contests, so little freebies

Well this month has started out slow for those of us in the freebie world, but there is always a bright side!!! There are plenty of contests out there for you to enter.  I was a little skeptical when it came to contests on facebook and other social outlets, but I watched other people post on how they kept winning things, so I decided to give it a try, and BOY AM I GLAD I DID!!!

Great ways to Save

Another great way to save money, if you get fresh veggies, CAN THEM!!! I just had my first experience.  I got a TON of cucumbers from a local food bank, and my husband LOVES Bread & Butter pickles.  So I decided to try my hand at making some pickles.  Just put them in the jars, now they have to sit in the jars in the fridge for 24 hours to finish "pickling".  If they turn out good (at least right now they smell good!!) Not much going on today, had a sick munchkin.  Mail call today: Free Prilosec OTC sample, Marlboro Sunglasses and Publix coupon book.  If you got the Sunday paper, in the P&G insert was a coupon for Olay Bath Bars $1 coupon, you can go to Target or Dollar Tree and get them for free!!! So here is my first blog!!! I am a busy new (again) mom, I have a 16 year old and now an 8 month old, who loves to save money, share with others any information on how to save money and get great products for your family.  Depending on the time restraints of being a new mom, i will try to post daily.  So, I have recently started joining "Review Sites".  These sites you can try products, you then give an honest review of the products and share on social medias, ie facebook, twitter, youtube or blogging.  I have joined Bzzagent.com, Smiley360.com and Swaggable.com, and just got an invite to Influenster.  Already got 5 product invites on swaggable in 2 weeks!
